TOM MAOLI INVITED TO SPEAK TO NORTH CAROLINA’S HIGH POINT UNIVERSITY ENTREPRENEURSHIP MAJORS

10/19/17

Far Hills, NJ -- On October 2, business leader Tom Maoli will take his entrepreneurial message to North Carolina to speak to the High Point University Entrepreneurship majors. His visit comes at the invitation of Christopher Dudley, the university’s senior vice president for development, and university President Nido Qubein.

“Entrepreneurship is becoming an extremely popular university major,” says Maoli. “I believe the best way for young people to begin to think like entrepreneurs is to actually hear from someone who’s taken that road in their life. What does it take to succeed? Where do passion and dreams come into play? And, most important, can I learn anything from failure.”

Maoli is probably the quintessential entrepreneur. Beginning out of high school, he jumped right into his own messaging business. Leveraging opportunities when they arose, Maoli expanded into logistics, warehousing and real estate before seizing an opportunity and jumping with both feet into the retail automotive business. In five years, he has earned a reputation as one of the nation’s top dealers.

The High Point University Entrepreneurship major is a perfect platform for Maoli’s entrepreneurial message. It is intended for students who are interested in starting or purchasing a business, or who are considering working in a family-owned business upon graduation. Upon completing the entrepreneurship major at High Point University, students will be able to effectively develop resource management plans, obtain the knowledge and required proficiency in the development and writing of a business plan, identify a business opportunity, and conduct a feasibility analysis. "U.S. News and World Report" ranked High Point University #1 among Regional Colleges in the South, the Most Innovative Regional College in the South and #1 for Best Undergraduate Teaching in Regional Colleges in the South.

Dr. Nido Qubein has served as president of High Point University since 2005. An accomplished business leader and dedicated philanthropist, he has led the university through an extraordinary transformation including major increases in traditional undergraduate enrollment (from 1,450 to 4,500 students), the number of faculty (from 108 to 300), and the addition of 90 new and acquired buildings on campus, with a total investment of $1.6 billion. Under his leadership, four academic schools have been added – the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication, the Congdon School of Health Sciences, the School of Art and Design, and the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy.

Tom Maoli is one of the New York metropolitan area’s leading entrepreneurs and business executives. He is Owner and Dealer Principal for Celebrity Motor Car Company, which includes Whipppany, New Jersey based Lexus of Route 10, Maserati of Morris County, and Alfa Romeo of Morris County. In addition, the Celebrity brand includes BMW of Springfield, Maserati of Bergen County, and New York based Goldens Bridge Mercedes Benz. He is also the owner of ROI Real-Estate, and one of the jewels of his real estate holdings is the famed Abbey (Alnwick Hall) in Morristown, New Jersey.

In April of this year, Maoli spoke about his career to approximately 100 business majors from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In June, Maoli revealed the philosophy and passion that has driven his career during an television and Internet interview on Barry Farber’s “Mind Your Business” show.
